
Basics of Skincare
Skincare has gained worldwide popularity in the last decade but is still rocket science for people starting up or having no knowledge/ lack of knowledge or misunderstandings regarding it. So, today I am going to tell you some basics you need to keep in mind if you are starting up with your skincare journey or is wrong informed for the same,
Starting with, people often think why do I need to do skincare what is the need? I understand where these people are coming from either they are those favourite people of universe who are blessed with good genes, great skin or just doesn’t see skin concerns as of now but can face them in future, may be in your 30’s , 40’s, or may be never.
I am going to tell you about the basic which you should probably do no matter if you are a kid, a teenager or an adult. You will not go wrong with it and these are one of the most necessary steps one should do until and unless you are prescribed by your dermatologist to do things differently.
There are most basic 3 step routine which one needs to do and then other steps keeps on adding up as being a part or addition to these ones.
This 3 step routine is most commonly called ‘The CTM skincare routine.
C stands for cleansing, T stands for toning, M stands for moisturisation, but there is one more step which is the most crucial step that is to protect your skin with a good protective sunscreen . Some people consider it as a step under moisturisation and some do consider it as all together an extra step.
Am/Pm routines
Generally morning skincare routines are simpler and easy .
Steps are as follows
Step1- Start with a gentle mild cleanser which doesn’t strip off the natural oils from your face but just cleanses the face nicely. The one from COSRX ‘ Low Ph Good morning gel cleanser is really good.
Step2- Tone your face with a hydrating mist or toner in order to prepare your skin for the next step. You can use something that has soothing ingredient like centella extracts, pure rose water etc.
Step3- Now use a hydrating good moisturiser for giving that nourishment ( according to your skin type)
Step4- Final step is to protect your skin from all the harmful radiations by applying a nice sunscreen.
Pm skincare routine
Generally night skincare routine are little complex .
Steps are as follows-
Step1- We will start with double cleansing in order to remove any makeup, sunscreen or dirt grime from the entire day.
For that you can either use a micellar water or an oil based makeup remover, cleansing oil or cleansing balm. The one from Dear Klairs ‘gentle black deep cleansing oil’ is very nice.
Step2- Second step of cleansing would be to use a water soluble cleanser / facewash to wash off any dirt or residue .
Step3- Use a toner to balance the ph or for the next few steps of your skincare routine.
Step4- Start with a concerned based serum in order to target the necessary requirements according to your skincare ( do this step only after you have done all the other steps for 20-30 days atleast )
Step5- Lastly finish off with a good hydrating and moisturising moisturiser for giving that nourishment .
PS- Make sure to slowly add or replace every product and not change everything at once as it might blow away your skin badly. So use accordingly what your skin requires and do your skincare accordingly although these are all really very basic of any skincare . Also, pick and choose every skincare product according to your skin type see if it’s dry, oily, normal, acne prone, sensitive or combination. Different skin types needs to use different set of products.
At the end eat healthy , drink plenty of water. Stay hydrated you are what you eat but tropical treatments are equally important to look your best and glow inside out.
